Thank you for your interest in presenting at the IABC Canada West Conference taking place in Victoria, BC, October 20-22, 2013. The theme for the conference is ?Table Stakes: Bringing Your Best Game to the Table? with a focus on conversations communicators are ? or should be ? having around the various ?tables? communication professionals work around.

It will include tracks on:

1. Mobile Communications (At the Tablet): key topic areas include but aren?t limited to: social media in specific applications, trends for non-location specific communications, measurement of mobile applications, the context for mobile tools in the proverbial ?toolkit,? privacy/secure online.

2. Leadership (At the Executive Table): key topic areas include but aren?t limited to: management vs. leadership, best practices in our profession, personal/professional development, research and measurement, leading the PR function.

3. Crisis/issues/emergency Communication (At the War Room Table): key topic areas include but aren?t limited to: case studies, developing crisis communication/emergency plans, activating crisis plans, creating a sense of urgency among stakeholders.

4. Community engagement/public consultation (At the Kitchen Table): key topic areas include but aren?t limited to: case studies, how & when to engage the public, traditional vs. non-traditional engagement, the ?good, the bad & the ugly.?

5. Internal communications (At the Team Table): key topic areas include but aren?t limited to: staff engagement, communicating with unwired employees, best practices, defining audiences, measurement, new trends.

We are looking for presentation proposals for all five tracks. For more information on our audience and our conference, see the ?Conference Background? section at the end of this document.

The deadline for speaker proposals for the IABC Canada West Region Conference is February 8, 2013. Please review the requirements before submitting a proposal.
